FILM INCENTIVE NEWS:
Draft of Rules
Draft of Application
Public Hearing: Tuesday, July 17th 9:00AM
Thompson Commerce Center, 3rd FL, Rm 3B
201 W. Washington Ave., Madison
If you haven't read the draft of the proposed film production tax credit rules, I suggest you do. While the intent is obviously to bring new business to the state there are specific exclusions that you should be aware of such as industrial video production companies, rental companies, and many existing commercial production companies. There is also an effort by some to extend the credits to non-residents.
These rules will have to be reviewed and changed in future years in order to stay competitive with other states, but anyone who wishes to comment on the draft should be at the hearing on July 17th. If you can not attend you may send comments to the email address provided in the notice.
